FAIR TESTIMONIALS
Hello! My name is Saige Slough and I am the 2023 Otsego County Fair Queen. I have been involved in the fair for as long as I can remember! It has been an important event for generations of my family. I began showing animals at the age of 4, and this will be my final year at age 18. Those 14 years have truly helped form who I am as a person even outside of the show ring. The fair is much more than just showing your animals in August. It’s doing chores in the freezing cold, hot sun, or rain storms. It’s working your animals after a long day at school or work. Raising animals is a huge commitment, and through that, I have learned so much about dedication, perseverance, and hard work. I now live my life with those same qualities no matter where I am. I believe that every kid should have the chance to be involved in a program as beneficial and rewarding as the fair!

I have been part of Otsego County Fair my whole life and threw out those years I have seen it bloom. The fair is growing every year. Seeing the hard work and dedication that goes into the fair has taught me to enjoy every minute of fair week.

My name is Andrea Cook and I am the 2023 fair princess. It has been an honor to be able to represent the Otsego County Fair. I have been a part of the Otsego County Fair since day one. I was born the Friday of the fair. My dad is on the fair board and my parents have been involved in the fair for many years. My dad missed my birth by minutes because he was helping my older siblings get ready for the auction. Ever since that day, fair has been a big part of my life. From bunny and chicken showing in the small animal barn to now showing pigs, lambs, and steers in the large animal barn. some of my best memories are at the fair. Watching grandstand events, doing carnival rides, going to the pageant and cheering on my siblings in the show ring. You can't forget kids' day, watching movies under the stars and so much more. I truly believe that fair has helped to make me the person I am today.

I grew up being involved in the fair for many years! I’ve made lifelong friendships and it helped build a strong foundation in who I am as a person. I learned how to work hard and have fun! The memories I created will last a lifetime. I hope the fair continues for many generations to come!

Summer would not be complete without a day at the Otsego County Fair-there is so much to see and do! The rodeo is a highlight my family never misses, and the chicken dinner at Grannie’s Kitchen is the best around! Probably the best thing about Fair though, is watching all of the kids developing friendships/skills that last a lifetime and the county community supporting these future leaders. Thank you OCF for all the work you do to bring us this wonderful family event!!
